Animal Euthanization

Some animal shelters euthanize animals that are not adopted within a set period of time. Other shelters have a policy of only putting down animals that are in distress due to age or illness. Do you think that animal euthanization is humane? Also, do you believe that animal euthanization is a good resloution to unadopted, or ill animals? Why or why not?

I believe euthanization is okay if you are trying to end the suffering your beloved pet is going through. I don’t believe its okay to kill an animal just because you cannot find a home for it. Its a difficult situation, however, with the overcrowding in animal sanctuaries. As Bob Barker says, “have your pets spayed or neutered!”

shelters that do not do this after a set period of time have crazy animals. Its extremley depressing to see the animals screaming to be let out but unable because people think it is not “humane”. Keeping an animal in this world for yourself is unaccebtable. Think about the dog.

  3. The only thing stopping shelters from going No Kill is the idea that it can not be done….where would Humans be if we acted like this was true?

Think about all the times in history when a “necessary evil” was replaced by a TRULY humane way of being!!

Killing an animal is not the answer, are we just to lazy for the alternative? Do we REALLY believe that it is impossible to host happy, healthy No Kill shelters?

What is to be said of “human nature”, if we are to be truly honest with our selves when we answer!?
