Poaching

Poaching is the illegal hunting, fishing or harvesting of wild plants or animals contrary to wildlife conservation laws. Examples of poaching would include violating time periods or hunting seasons, not possessing a license, hunting in illegal or restricted locations, and partaking in illegal methods such as using prohibited gear or equipment. In addition, other examples of illegal poaching would include that the poacher possessed more than the legal number of prey caught allowed, the species was endangered therefore protected by law, and the poacher is illegally profiting from and misusing wildlife resources. Hunters poach for a number of reasons including for profit or sport. Although, violations of hunting laws and regulations are punishable by law poaching is common and impacting animal populations drastically. How can we help preserve the populations of animals today?
